Bookbinding workshop with Ladies Wine & Design Glasgow, The Lighthouse
Saturday 8th September, 10-4, £35

Make a hard cover book by hand. 
Using UK milled paper and a choice of bright papers and book cloth, you’ll be led through the process of sewing together a book with multiple sections and making a bespoke cover. We’ll also be bringing a hot foil press and a choice of hand type and foils to personalise your book.

An insight into contemporary bookbinding practice, this workshop will cover material choice, traditional skills, hand sewing, paper handling and an introduction to different structures.

This August we'll be joining a host of other talented makers from Argyllshire. As well as lots of lovely design, there will be hands on workshops on offer too, to give a taste of our practice.

Hand Sew A Notebook - Exposed Spine Stitch:
11:30 - 12:30 £15
Using professional tools and methods, you'll be led through the process of binding your own book to take away, hand sewing the pages using a method that features an exposed spine stitch. We'll use premium UK milled paper and a choice of coordinated bookcloths and foiled cover designs to make a useful and beautiful book. Suitable for beginners, 14 years+.

Hand Sew A Notebook - Landscape hardbound book:
16:30 - 17:30 £15
Using professional tools and methods, you'll be led through the process of binding your own book to take away. Learn to fold and gather pages, and bind your book in a durable and hardcover. We'll use premium UK milled paper and a choice of coordinated bookcloths and foiled cover designs to make a useful and beautiful book. Suitable for beginners, 14 years+.
