Bookbinding workshop

I’m thrilled to be able to offer this workshop, where you’ll learn how to bind a book by hand in your own home, using traditional bookbinding skills and materials. Perfect for learning a new skill, or gifting.

The kit, posted out to you, will contain all the professional tools and materials you’ll need to make your book by hand. The tools have been carefully selected to start you off right on your bookbinding journey.

You’ll receive a link to a pre-recorded online workshop, where I’ll lead you through the process from start to finish, sharing traditional skills from the world of bookbinding and tricks of the trade. The video will be available for life, meaning that you can pause, rewind and rewatch at your own pace.

Hardcover books are a hugely versatile method of bookbinding, and are so satisfying to make. The pages open completely flat to let your ideas spread across the full page. Suitable for beginners and those with a little experience. Recommended for over 14s due to sharp tools.

You’ll learn:

Sewing sections together
Attaching endpapers
Measuring and making a hardcover case
Casing in (attaching cover and book block)

• Complete kit - this contains professional materials cut to size, professional bookbinding tools and access to the live online workshop. Perfect for those new to bookbinding or as a gift.

• Materials kit - this is for those with bookbinding tools already. Includes the materials cut to size and access to the live online workshop

• Workshop only - I’ll send a cutting list of materials for you to cut to size.
